Bucket List's.

Yesterday I briefly mentioned my Bucket List - this reminded me that I hadn't looked at my list in well over a year! So I rummaged about and eventually found the shabby bit of paper. It was a small list, I had wrote when I was sick one day to try and cheer me up, it had some cool typical stuff on it like 'Skydive' and 'climb Everest' or even 'be a millionaire,' it made me laugh - I have to admit, but I was reminded of the great feeling of hope and inspiration I had when I wrote it. So with that I grabbed my bedside book and set out to write a new and improved bucket list with 100 things on it that I must do before I die. For those of you who have no idea what I'm on about here you go:

A bucket list is a list of things you want to do in your life before you 'kick the bucket' (die)

"Gosh isn't he bright a cheerful talking about death on a lovely sunny Thursday" (surprisingly it is sunny today in Ireland) Yes! Yes I am bright and cheerful talking about death because why should we be afraid of it? Death is one of the few things we know for certain will happen, so why hide, why run away from the inevitable? Nowadays there is a massive taboo about death, it's the elephant in the room, the conversation that causes heads to drop, well guys if your one of these people I suggest it's time you raise your head, open your eyes and shout at the elephant.

One reason people are afraid of death is because they don't know when its going to happen, but they know it will happen, like the rain! We all know it will come we just don't know when (unless the weather guys actually get it right), you don't see (most) people running around frantically sobbing about the possibility of rain... Death is not a disaster, it is a goal, it is the tape at the end of the race, the line we all cross, it is the final chapter of your life, the last thing before the credits, sure no one wants to die but no one has a choice! Use death as the deadline (no pun intended) for everything you want to have done in life. How can you turn death into a positive thing? How can you ensure when you look back on your life you can say 'I was happy,' how can you prevent living just a normal life? Turning what could be ordinary into extraordinary? Simples.
Write a Bucket List.

Not sure what you put on your 'To do list for life?' that's ok you don't have to write a thousand in one sitting, add one or two things every now and again and soon you will have quite the list! It's important to make sure that the things on your list aren't impossible and on the other hand not too simple! It's a delicate balance but you'll be able to get it alright, but the most important thing is only put things down that you WANT to do, not because they look cool, or because it would be a cool story (bro) to tell someone, stick to things that you really wanna do :)

So before I bore you to tears here is my Bucket List!

If your stuck or need motivation I suggest you watch "The Bucket List" a movie with the beautiful Morgan Freeman, it's a great wee movie, sure it has some flaws but don't we all.

If you wanna make your list online here's a nice wee website for it:  http://bucketlist.org/

I hope this has giving you something to think about, I would apologies again for the rambling but that implies I won't do it again... If you do make a bucket list or have any other thoughts I would love to hear from you!

Those of you I have on Facebook don't be afraid to chat me or whatevs, or you gorgeous bloggers could drop a comment :D

    1. You should do it on your blindfolded day so it's more of a challenge ;)

  3. I love bucket lists. Alot. Alotalot. I also love reading other peoples lists because as you go through it and think "hey I've done that, and that..." it helps remind you of how many awesome things you've actually done. :)
Hannah Gardiner and I have a bucket list of things to do before we finish school. It's a wonderful thing and the perfect excuse to do weird but interesting things such as have a picnic in winter.
